Peat Rigg 2020

Monday March 9th 2020

We arrived safely this morning and spent the morning settling into our rooms, putting our duvet covers on and unpacking.

After lunch at 12.30pm we went out to Cowthorn Camp where we completed some team building activities including leading each other blindfolded around the camp and playing hide and seek on the moorland. We trekked over the moors and woods back to the centre.

Tea was pasta bolognaise and cake for pudding. Now we are off night time orienteering – torches at the ready!

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s full English breakfast!

Day one photos

Tuesday March 10th 2020

A great night’s sleep last night, all fast asleep by 10.30pm and had to wake everyone at 7am this morning.

There were lots of different activities to do today.

We had our own St Martin’s Bake Off this morning, making cakes from beetroot and courgettes, coming up with our own recipes

Some of us tackled the low ropes obstacle course, while others zoomed down the low and high zip wire. We also had a go at archery.

We all enjoyed chicken korma for tea tonight. After tea we worked in teams to navigate the night-line course.

Time for a hot chocolate, supper and bed!

Day two photos

Wednesday March 11th 2020

A super night’s sleep, all snoring by 9.30pm and had to be woken up at 7.15am for breakfast.

Another busy day at Peat Rigg, zip-wiring, crate building and archery.

Mrs Stephenson surprised us by dropping in for the afternoon and the night activities.

We had beef pie for tea.

Our evening activity is ‘egg drop’ and Bake Off tasting and results.

We’ll all sleep well tonight!

Day three photos

Thursday March 12th 2020

Another windy and busy day. We’ve completed bushcraft activities, abseiling, the high zip wire and caving today.

We had the opportunity to taste venison and duck!

We had vegetable chilli or cottage pie tea – the cottage pie was a big hit…lots of us had seconds!

Tonight is the final round of Bake Off and the winner will be crowned.

Tomorrow morning’s job will be stripping beds and packing ready to come home.

Here are the rest of the photos from our wonderful week away at Peat Rigg.  Enjoy looking at them!

There are still more to go on which I will try to put on over the next few days.
