Autumn Term: The Victorians and WW2

Over the Autumn term, we will be looking at the Victorians and their impact on modern day Britain. Through this topic the children will learn about Victorian life and compare to their lives today. They will look at different types of evidence from the Victorian period and the written sources we have and understand what these tell us about Victorian life.

After the half term, we will move onto WW2. The children will compare the knowledge that they gain about World War 2 with the knowledge that they have acquired about war and battles during their learning about the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Scots and the Vikings. They will study the events and impact of World War 2 by focusing on more specific features such as the difference between men and women and the evacuation effort.
