This is our School's Admission policy. We have tried to make it as clear and helpful as we can. If you have any comment about it, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs Barber, Headteacher, who will address any issues. In addition, Mrs. Black, School Secretary, or Mrs. Newton, Head's Secretary, are available in the School Office to answer any questions you may have concerning admissions.
Our policy is available on the policy page of this website.
As a Deanery Aided School, St. Martin's is its own admission authority. However, Parent/Carers still need to contact the Harrogate Education Office to register an application for a school place at the School. This is in addition to contacting the School direct to arrange a visit and collecting of the School's Supplementary Information Form (S.I.F.).
Harrogate Education Office can be contacted on 01609 535658.
Pre School settings are in receipt of application procedures re. admissions and will give support and advice.
Please note: We have been granted a variation to our September 2021 admission arrangements in respect of the over-subscription criteria relating to attendance at worship whilst places of worship have been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The variation makes it clear that the attendance requirements will be disapplied for periods during which the relevant place of worship is closed and no alternative premises have been available for public worship.
In accordance with section 88E of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, the proposed variation to the admission arrangements determined by the governing board for St Martin’s Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, Scarborough for September 2021 were approved on October 26th 2020 by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator.
It was determined that for admission in September 2021 the faith based oversubscription criteria will be as described in this determination.
