East Barnby 2011 - Day Three

Breakfast on Day Three was bacon, hash browns, tomatoes...Miss Brown was gutted that she had to miss this!  Everyone was hungry and well rested, ready for the day ahead. Mr. Clayton was dead impressed with everybody's eagerness for what was coming and was pretty excited himself.

We all set off to the woods to complete a serious morning of woodland activity.  Lots of thought had to go into the process.

There were lots of different activities which some people just could not believe...

.. and others thought were just plain hilarious!

As if we weren't eating enough, we were instructed to make a woodland cocktail, full of earthy flavours and heady aromas...

...although some people clearly preferred the East Barnby pack up variety.

The woods were full of very scarey stuff which made people react in very different ways.

Others were affected by a strange brown skin reaction, which became worse the longer the woodland experience continued.

Despite this, many decided that this was the prime location for a des res and set to, remembering that location was everything.

Imagine their surprise when they discovered that someone had beaten them to it and built a castle in their back garden...

... so some decided to protect it...

...others decided, not in my back yard... and stormed it!

Once the storming battle had died down, the troops decided on a quick game of Pooh Sticks...

...followed by some quality purchasing of gifts for Mums...

...then back for tea.

The evening entertainment - Mummification by loo roll - was carried out observing the 2011 Brown Paper prepared by Mrs. A. Smith.  Strict criteria applied and stringent monitoring and evaluation took place throughout.

All groups took the task very seriously...

...others thought it was a hoot...

...and it was a very effective way of keeping some people quiet for a short space of time.

It's amazing what you can do with some Proudfoots product and a team of determined children in ten minutes!

After much inspectorial debate and levelling of criteria, the judgements were given...

...the suspense was unbearable...

...and the outcome was outstanding!

East Barnby is a great place to encourage you to think about other people.  It makes you realise how great friendship is...

...and to value those you have left at home.  The girls were moved to remember Mr. Duncan and, in honour of his daily desire for them to 'tuck in and do up', they performed this act of respect.
