How we painted the picture:
In our painting we drew Jesus with a woman touching him to see if he is really there. In the background there are the tomb and a dove flying above Jesus. There is also a lilly flower to represents purity and Mary the mother of Jesus.
We started off by painting the biggest part of the drawing, the sky. We painted it in different shades of yellow and gold which looks really effective. Most of the other paintings used red and orange for their paintings symbolising the blood of Jesus and the light of the world going out but the yellow and gold symbolises the hope of Jesus coming back. . We then painted the grass and ground different shades of green and added more greens when it had dried. When we came to painting Jesus, we mixed two different browns and painted the top half of his body. The next day we discovered that we had washed that colour away and had to start the body again. We couldn’t get the same colour back so we had to paint over the old body.
How we tried to copy some of the same techniques used by the Pre-Raphaelite Artists:
When we first did the drawing and the drafts we were told to use
a Pre-Raphaelite ‘Stunner’, we used Annie Miller. We also had to give the women
a long neck, big red lips and a stern chin. The hair had to be a reddish-brown
colour.
