On
the eleventh of February St.Martin’s school celebrated the feast of the Passover.

They enjoyed the delights of:
Lamb- representing the the sacrifice of the most precious thing to a Jew
Haroset -A mixture of apples, almonds and cinnamon, the colour of mud to remember that the Israelites had to make bricks without straw,
Roasted egg-representing new life for the Israelites when they were freed from slavery
Parsley -dipped into salt water the Parsley to remember the paint brush they used to paint blood on their door frames so that the angel of death would pass over their house they used the salt water to remember their tears as slaves,
Bitter Herbs-remind us of the sorrow of slavery
Horse radish-representing the bitterness of slavery
Pitta bread-the Jews made unleavened bread because they had to eat quickly
and the wine (represents the blood of the lamb that they ate) of course we drunk Grape juice instead.
I interviewed Fr. Tony. He said the feast was excellent and he can not wait to do it all again next year.
