I always knew that I wanted to be a primary school teacher. However, when I graduated from University in 1999, after gaining a BA (hons) in Visual Art with Art History, I decided that I wanted to find a job and further develop my life skills. The thought of spending the rest of my life in a classroom was very scary!!
After spending 3 years working in a bank I decided that it was time to take the plunge into teaching. I successfully qualified as a teacher in 2003. From that moment onwards I have never looked back.
I joined St Martins in September 2003 working in Class 8 with Reception and Year 1 children. I thoroughly enjoy teaching this age group. I also train the Yr5 & 6 netball teams, run a recorder club (alongside Mrs Willshaw, Miss Peat & Miss Hardcastle) and have just taken on the role of co-ordinating P.E. throughout the school.
In the little spare time that I have out of school I help with a Brownie pack, like reading and keeping fit, and am keen on D.I.Y!
