After graduating with an English BA (Hons) degree I spent a year as a volunteer in London for a Church organisation called London City Mission. The work involved educating children about work amongst the homeless, 'hands on' homeless work in various centres and general community and youth work. Afterwards, I returned to Scarborough, working for the D.H.S.S. for a year before starting a P.G.C.E. at The University College of Ripon and York St. John.

Upon qualifying as a teacher 5 years ago I started working here at St. Martin's. My other interests include playing football and watching most other sports (except horse racing and bowls), reading, playing the drums and feeding my wife's rabbit.
