On Saturday 30th November, St. Martin’s two netball teams went to play in a tournament at Scarborough College.

Everyone played brilliantly but there were three players that stood out in the year 6 team – Molly, who had an opponent who was twice the size of her, Bobbie, who came unavoidably at the last minute and Megan, who played Centre all round. Finally, the Year 6 netball team beat Seamer, drew with Lisvane and Lindhead and we (sigh) lost to Gladstone Road. Overall, the team played really well.

The Year 5 team played equally well. They lost two games against Gladstone Road A team and East Ayton but they drew against Lindhead and they beat Gladstone Road B. The two star players were Poppy, who isn’t even in the proper team and played brilliantly and Maria, who stood in as WA when Bobbie wasn’t there.

Report by Rosie and Megan

(With teams decimated by sickness, I was so proud of all the girls and am especially grateful to Stephanie and Elise from Gladstone Road who joined our Year 5 team to help out. A BIG ‘thank you’ to Pam for umpiring and encouraging.        Miss Brown)

Well done, Girls (and Mrs. O)!
